About NABTEB

NABTEB symbolizes National Business and Technical Examinations Board. It was established in 1992. The vision of the Board during its creation is to domesticate craft-level examinations which were beforehand conducted by Pittman’s, City & Guilds, and Royal Society of Arts as provided by the National Policy on Education.

Its inception was the pinnacle of a dynamic process which lasted for fifteen (15) years starting from 1977 and ending in 1992. At that time, the FOUR Government Panels were put up at different times to evaluate the structure and place of public examinations in our educational system.

The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) was established under Decree 70 of 1993. NABTEB also partners with City Guilds and Vatebra to help its students win in the marketplace.

What Role Does This Board Play in our educational system?

The body has the responsibility to conduct Technical and Business examinations which were beforehand conducted by the City and Guilds of London, the Royal Society of Arts of London, and the West African Examinations Council.
They also have the responsibility of conducting designated examinations on behalf of or in alliance with other examination agencies or bodies such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, or the London Chamber of Commerce, and so on.
The body issues certificates and results.
They make awards in examinations supervised by the Board.
This academic body also evaluates the performance of NABTEB in the fulfilment of its objectives.

Is NABTEB Still Accepting Registration?

Yes, NABTEB is currently accepting registration from interested students. The registration will last till May/June. Thus, students are advised to register on time.

When is the examination date for 2024?

According to the official announcement given by NABTEB, the examination will last for twenty-two (22) days. It will begin on the 26th of June (Monday) and end on the 25th of July (Tuesday), 2024.

What is the Total Fee NABTEB?

Below is a tabular outline of the total fees a candidate has to pay to be qualified as a proper student under NABTEB.

Candidates Must Note:

The Tuition fee is based on the combination of subjects the candidate plan to study.

Also, tuition fees can be paid in instalments.

The amount of hostel fee a candidate pays is dependent on the location of the study centre, the total number of occupant (s) in the room and the suitability of the room.

Guidelines on How to Register for NABTEB

Go to the Board’s registration website at mayjune.nabteb.gov.ng to see the login instructions.

After you are done reading, click on the ‘Apply’ button.

From the scratch card you bought, fill in the PIN, and the serial number.

A page with a form for you to fill in will pop up. Fill in the form accurately.

Upload a recent passport photograph. The size of the passport should not be more than 29.9kb and the measurement should be 160px by 200px.

Cross-check the information you filled in to ensure that there is no costly error. Once you are satisfied that there is none, click on ‘Submit’.

A candidate number will be issued to you. Take note of that number carefully; cause it will be needed during the examination.

Be mindful not to use a card that has already been used either by you or another candidate.

Ensure that the email address you register with is valid. Invalid email addresses will be penalized by the deduction of card use.

What certificates can be used in place of NABTEB?

The certificates given to NABTEB graduates are Advanced National Technical Certificate (ANTC) and Advanced National Business Certificate (ANBC). The certificates that can be used in place of the above are National Certificate in Education (NCE), Ordinary National Diploma (OND), Bachelor of Science (BSc.), Bachelor of Arts (BA.), and so on.
