How to Apply for a Police Clearance Certificate in Ghana
The Ghana Police Clearance Certificate is mainly issued at the Police Headquarters in Accra. Candidates can apply for his or her certificate at any regional Ghana Police Service headquarters.
It will take the authorities only ten (10) working days to process the certificate. There may be some form of delays for applicants from outside Accra by the way.
How Much is the Cost of a Ghana Police Clearance Certificate?
The price to obtain a Ghana police clearance certificate is GHS120.00 for Ghana residents and US$120.00 for non-residents.
However, the date an applicant applied for the certificate will determine if the applicant is a resident or not. Actually, if the applicant arrives three months ago, he or she is considered as a resident and thus will pay GHC120.
Requirements for Application for Ghana Police Clearance Certificate
All applicants for the Police clearance certificate in Ghana must possess the following documents to be eligible to apply.
- Fully completed Police CID form (Nominal Vetting)
- Identification certificates/documents
- A set of ink-rolled fingerprints
- Passport Copy
- Application letter of the certificate from the embassy
- Two passport-size photograph
- Application fee of GH¢40.0
Ghana Police Report Form
During the application process for the Police clearance certificate, the police report form will be given to the applicant to fill out at the Police Headquarters after he or she has paid their fees.
Validity of Ghana Police Clearance Certificate
The Ghana Police Clearance Certificate is valid only for six (6) months from the date it was issued. However, candidates can always request a new one if the certificate expires.
