How Long Does the Police Academy training last?
The POLAC training is divided into three (3) stages – Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced. Each stage takes six (6) months to complete. That means it takes eighteen (18) months to complete all stages.
Is the form for the Police Academy out?
The form for Nigerian Police Academy is out and currently for sale. Interested applicants should do their due diligence and submit early before applications close.
Cut Off Mark for Nigeria Police Academy
The cutoff mark to gain admission into a Nigerian Police Academy is 180. If you do get a score below 180, you will still be considered.
How Many Years Do I Have to Spend in the Police Academy?
It will take an officer in training five (5) to graduate from POLAC. The five years will involve diligent academic and police training.
Must I use JAMB to Apply to POLAC?
Applicants have to register with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and sit for the UTME exam before they can gain admission into POLAC.
Can I use my phone at the Academy?
Officers are not allowed to bring their mobile phones or any electronic gadgets to the training venue. Lateness is also not tolerated.

Requirements for Admission into the Nigerian Police Force Academy.
To be granted admission into the Nigerian Police Academy, you need to fulfil the following criteria:
- The applicant must be born in Nigeria.
- Applicants must be within the range of eighteen (18) and twenty-four (24) years of age.
- Applicants need a WAEC or NECO certificate to qualify.
- He/she should have a minimum of five (5) credit passes in his/her A’Level or O’ Level result including General Mathematics and English Language.
- Applicants must be at least 5 feet 6 inches tall for males and 5 feet 4 inches tall for females.
- Deformity or Impairment of any sort which is considered a threat to the mental and physical health of the applicant will not be allowed.
- Applicants should have competency and fluency in written and oral English Language.
- Male applicants who are 22 above must have an expanded chest span of 86cm or above.
- The individual need have testimonial of good character.
- The individual should have no previous written record of conviction or arrest for any crime.
- Applicants must have a legalized form of identification. It could be a valid Voter’s card, a National Identification Number, a Driver’s license, National Identification Card, an international passport, etc.
- Applicants must be able to display professionalism in designated places of assignments and the workplace (office).
- Applicants are expected to bring two recent passport photographs.
- Applicants must have a functional and accessible email address and a reachable phone number.
