About NECO

NECO is an academic body established by the Federal Government in response to the needs of and demands made by Nigerians. The Federal Government also hoped to use the academic body to tackle the problem of the annually increasing number of secondary school candidates who wish to take SSCE across the country.

How to Check the List of NECO Shortlisted Candidates

Follow these steps to check the names of candidates shortlisted by the NECO:

Visit the NECO official portal at neco.gov.ng.
If you already created an account, log into the portal. If not, create an account before you log in.
You will see a shortlist tab. Click on it to view online.
You can also download the PDF format to view it offline.
Just click on “Download List”.

Things You Need for the NECO Screening (update for NECO Shortlisted Candidates)

Congrats to those who have seen their names among the shortlisted candidates. Now as you move on to the next phase of this recruitment, which is the interview/screening, there are things you must ensure you take with you to the screening process. They include:

Your educational certificates (secondary, tertiary, master’s or even PhD)
A valid identification card.
Certificate of L.G.A. Origin.
Certificate of State Origin.
Birth Certificate
Two (or more) recent passport photos.
National Identification Number.
