Internship Summary.

The UNILAG Design Studio’s RICE 360 yearly Summer Internship Program focuses on recruiting individuals who work towards improving global health through combined team-based projects.

Interns will work with mentors to represent a wide range of Global Health expertise and employ the engineering design process to provide solutions to Healthcare problems.

About UNILAG Design Studio

UNILAG Design Studio was established with the aim of inculcating innovation in the critical thinking of its students to use state-of-the-art technology for the development of highly effective, cheap healthcare solutions that solve serious public health needs.

It is a product of an alliance between the University of Lagos and RICE University, Houston, USA. The studio serves as a Hub for promoting technology-based solutions and raising the next generation of innovators from the University Community.

The studio is located in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos State.

How Much Does UNILAG Design Studio RICE360 Pay Their Summer Interns?

In this internship, the candidates are the ones expected to pay a one-time fee of N5,500 or $11.91 as part of the operating costs. After the three (3) months program, the candidates will receive a “Certification of Internship in Statistical Consulting”.

Requirements for the UNILAG Design Studio RICE360 Summer Internship

Graduate or Bachelor’s degrees in the following fields are preferred – Medical Sciences, Engineering, Sciences, and Business Administration.
The Company needs candidates who will be available full-time throughout the duration of the internship.
Candidates need to have experience in the use of one or more of the following:

Entrepreneurship –Marketing and idea pitching concepts, Business orientation and start-up development, Customer engagement and interactions, e. t. c.
Technical (CNC, Electronic Circuit Designs, Rapid Prototyping with 3D Printer, Mechanical Fabrication, Laser Cutting, Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing (CAD/CAM), Programming, I.C.T. and AI Solutions Development, Project Management etc.)
Innovation: Creativity Acumen, Critical Thinking, Healthcare Innovation experience, a flair for technology-based innovation, and a Problem-solving mentality
