About the Police Service Commission

The Police Service Commission is an independent body established as an executive body for Nigeria under the Police Service Commission (Establishment Act) 2001 and section 153 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999. It has the responsibility of discipline, promotion, dismissing and appointment of all officers of the Nigeria Police Force with the exception of the Inspector General of Police.

Eligibility Criteria for PSC Recruitment

  1. You must be born in Nigeria and must have your National Identification Number.
  2. The applicant must not be less than eighteen (18) years of age nor older than twenty-five (25) years of age during the period of application.
  3. The required height for females is 1.64 meters while for males is 1.67 meters.
  4. Male applicants must have a fully expanded chest of 86cm (34 inches) and above.
  5. You must show proof of your physical and mental capacity as certified by a Government Medical Officer.
  6. You must have a clean financial record.
  7. You must not have any mental or physical deformity or disability.
  8. You must also have a clean criminal record and should have a good character.
  9. You should present reference letters from any two of the following individuals:
  • Traditional Rulers.
  • Magistrates.
  • Local Government Chairmen.
  • Heads of Educational Institutions.
  • Civil Servants (Grade Level 12 and above).
  • Police Officers (CSP rank and above).
  • Military Officers (not below the rank of Lieutenant Colonel).
