TASUED, originally known as TASCE, was not a university until 1978, when it was established as the Ogun State College of Education, marking the first tertiary institution established in 1976 by the Ogun State Government.The 76th and first specialized University of Education in Nigeria, with a high ranking of 2nd in Africa and 8th globally, was established from the former College of Education, despite the financial burden of securing a new permanent site. The institution adopts the 1-2-8 formula.
