About Civil Defense Corps

Under an act of the National Assembly, the Nigerian government founded the paramilitary Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in May 1967. Along with the Nigerian police, the NSCDC’s duties include defending people’s lives and property, preventing vandalism on pipelines, handling crises, and maintaining overall national security.

The Nigerian Civil Defence salary is just as that of Military forces and Police in Nigeria because they have the same chain of command. 

However, the Civil Defence salary structure is based on certificates/qualifications an individual holds and years of service. Example;

  • If you are a medical doctor, you will be placed on level 12.
  • A master’s degree holder is placed on level 9.
  • A lawyer is also placed on level 9.
  • If you are a graduate, you will be placed at Level 8.
  • An HND holder is placed on Level 7.
