Jamb Deadline and Closing Date
JAMB announces its deadline for registration for the UTME examination a few months before the start of the examination. This year, the JAMB registration deadline is February 14th, 2024. For this year, JAMB announced its deadline to be on the second week of February. However, in a statement made by Fabian Benjamin, the Head of Public Affairs and Protocol of the Board, the deadline was extended.
In his announcement, he stated that the deadline for selling the e-Pin will be extended to Monday, 20th February, while the deadline for the UTME registration will be extended to Wednesday, the 22nd of February.
The reason for the extension was due to the extreme mechanical difficulties that most candidates experience while using the electronic channels to either buy their e-Pins or the inability of some average candidates to readily process their jamb registration due to financial difficulties. Most of these reasons are out of the control of the candidates.
Hence, the extension is an act of consideration for those candidates who were not able to register due to the above reasons. This will ensure that all the candidates who wish to register for the 2024 UTME will have the opportunity to do so. Continuously, candidates can now register by visiting the approved JAMB CBT registration centers.
To avoid any form of extortion, candidates have been strongly advised to register at only the centers approved by Jamb nationwide and Jamb official offices only. Presently, there are 747 Jamb-accredited centers worldwide.

Things You Should Know About JAMB’S Deadline 2024/2025
Information is power. Stated below are the things you should know about Jamb’s deadline:
- You have to complete your registration before the deadline else your application will not be accepted.
- If you wish to change anything such as your choice of institution, your preferred course of study, or anything at all, you must do so before the deadline.
- Do not depend on Jamb deadline extension. Just because it was extended this year means that it will be extended every year. Therefore, do the necessary.
- You should start preparing for the Jamb examinations even before the registration date has been announced. Do not wait till the deadline date to start reading for your Jamb.
- After the deadline has passed, make sure you check the center you have been assigned to for your Jamb examinations. Locate the center in time. If the center is outside your state of residence, it is advisable to travel a day before and arrange for a suitable place you will stay until the end of your exams.
Procedure For Jamb Registration 2024
This article will not be complete if we do not talk about how to properly register for your jamb. The process begins with creating a Jamb profile. You should start by going to NIMC’s portal https://nimc.gov.ng and obtaining your NIN. Send your NIN to 66019 or 55019 through a text. This should be sent from a unique number.
A unique number is one that no one else has ever used to register for Jamb. If you are a returning student, you should use the original number you used to register for Jamb. If you successfully send your NIN, then you should receive a profile code on that number. It will show on the portal if you have successfully created your profile. You can then use that profile to proceed to register your Jamb.
After the above procedure, you have to go to one of the approved financial institutions, post offices, or an accredited JAMB center to get your e-Pin. The e-Pin is a 10-digit code that will be sent to your phone number by Jamb after the financial institution has successfully processed your payment on the portal.
With the e-Pin, you can now visit an accredited or approved JAMB CBT center to start your registration. You will be asked to fill in your personal details during registration. The personal information includes your full name, current email address, current residential address, permanent home address, gender, phone number, L.G.A., etc.

You will also be asked to fill in your academic details. This includes the name of your secondary school where you recently graduated, which O’level or A’level result you intend to use, and then the grades you scored in each subject. If you are still waiting for your results, there will be an option to indicate so. However, immediately after your results are out, do your due diligence and upload them.
You will be asked to scan and upload some necessary documents. This includes your birth certificate, your WAEC result, your certificate of origin, a recent passport photograph, etc.
After that, your biometrics will be captured and uploaded to the portal. Your biometrics is what differentiates you from millions of candidates who are also registering for this exam so don’t forget to have it captured.
Once your registration has been completed, print a hard copy of your e-slip. The e-slip is evidence that you have completed your registration and that you are qualified to sit for the jamb exam.
