About The NJI (national Judiciary Institute)

The National Judicial Institute (NJI) was founded by Decree No. 28 of 1991, as amended by Decree No. 15 of 1999, which is currently Act N55 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria; 2004.

It is governed by a Board of Governors that includes the Chief Justice of Nigeria as Chairman, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, the most senior Justice of the Supreme Court, the President of the Court of Appeal, the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, the Chief Judges of all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, two Grand Kadis of Sharia Courts of Appeal, and two Presidents of Customary Courts of Appeal, among others.

Section 3 of the National Judicial Institute Act, which established the Institute, specifies the Institute’s objectives and functions as follows:

The Institute shall serve as the primary focal point for judicial activities aimed at increasing the efficiency, uniformity, and quality of judicial services in both superior and inferior courts.
Hold courses for all categories of judicial officers and their support staff to broaden and improve their overall knowledge and performance in their various areas of service.
Provide continuing education for all categories of judicial officers by undertaking, organizing, conducting, and facilitating study courses, lectures, seminars, workshops, conferences, and other judicial education-related programs, etc.

Interested Candidates must possess good interpersonal and communication skills.

Must be Nigerian and should have a valid means of identification such as a driver’s license, National Identification Card, International passport, and Voters card.
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 Credits not more than 2 sittings in WAEC, NECO, or GCE, including English Language and Mathematics
Local government certificate must be presented
For B.Sc. and HND holders, a letter or certificate of completion of NYSC is needed
Must be eager to work in new conditions/environments
