This Foreign post-graduate scholarship program is being set up by the Niger Delta Development Commission to help and give our young people the training and skills they need to effectively participate in the Federal Government’s Local Content program and also give them the opportunity to specialize in their area of study which will help them compete internationally in different professional disciplines.

The Niger Delta Development Board has officially made it known that the NDDC Scholarship is out for all interested applicants who would wish to further their studies to the postgraduate level.

This foreign/local postgraduate scholarship program is to help young people who are willing to train and learn skills they need to effectively participate in the Federal Government Local Content program and also give them the opportunity to specialize in their area of study which will help them compete internationally in different professional disciplines.

This Scholarship is only for those who want to further their studies to the postgraduate level, they also have a scholarship for the undergraduate level but it is not yet out for all undergraduates to apply for. So all undergraduates waiting to apply for the undergraduate scholarship under the guardian of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) will have to wait patiently as the scholarship is not yet open for them.

Requirements for the NDDC Scholarship for Postgraduate Studies

Here are some requirements you need to meet in order to be qualified for the NDDC Scholarship program.

All interested candidates must send their application online through the Niger Delta Development Commission Website.
All interested Candidates must possess their WASSCE or NECO/ Undergraduates degree (1^st class/Second class Upper).
All Interested applicants will be given the Local Government Identification Computer-Based Test in each Niger Delta State I.Q competency in English, Mathematics and general paper.
All interested applicants who had written the Test must possess a minimum test score of 70%
It is important to note that only qualified applicants will be shortlisted for the scholarship award program.
It is important to note that the Local Government Area and Community Development Committees will conduct the final round of Verification.

Eligibility for the NDDC Scholarship Postgraduate Studies

To be eligible for the NDDC scholarship program, you must meet the entire criterion specified and they include;

All interested applicants must be a native of Akwa Ibom State, Rivers, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo, Ondo, and Imo State.
All interested applicants must be accepted into a Post-graduate program in one of the above-mentioned subjects at a foreign University.
For all interested applicants seeking to further academics into a Master’s degree program, you must possess a first degree with at least a second class division, and for all interested applicants who wish to apply for a Ph.D. program; they must possess a strong master’s degree from an accredited University.
In order to apply for the Scholarship, you must have already been enrolled in an overseas University.
All interested applicants must have no criminal record which may include, a conviction, or any evidence of Cult participation if not, you won’t be considered for the scholarship program.
All Interested applicants must have finished their National Youth Service Corp (NYSC).
As an interested applicant, you can use any of the following individuals to serve as your guarantor with a written statement attesting to the applicant’s good behavior. Those individuals which you can use include; the National Assembly or State House of Assembly, a high court judge, a first-class traditional ruler, or the chairman of the LGA.

How to Apply for the NDDC Scholarship Application

Here are guidelines on how to apply for the NDDC scholarship program.

The first thing is to log into the official website via www.nddc.gov.ng in order to have access to the NDDC Scholarship site.
Do well to use the NDDC scholarship portal to have access to the form.
When that is done select the publication for the scholarship
Do well to follow the Instructions provided to successfully register and apply for the scholarship exercise.
When that is done, print your scholarship registration form
