It has come to our notice that the Management Board of the Lagos State University of Education has officially made known that the suspension form for all students who wish to suspend their courses or studies is out on the school portal.

All you have to do is to get the form and make sure all the necessary signatures needed before you can suspend the course are on the form.

The form is free to all students, and it is only given when the situation requires it. If you do not have a reasonable reason why you wish to suspend your course or studies, you may likely not be given approval for the suspension. So you have a valid reason why you need to suspend the course.

Here are a few reasons students suspend their courses/studies at the University.

One of the most crucial reasons that can hinder a student from dropping a course is if the student is solely responsible for themselves or their family. When a student is not only covering their own expenses but also providing for their family, the temptation to work more to ensure everyone is well-fed becomes overwhelming. Consequently, the student may become excessively frustrated and struggle to maintain a balance between work and studies, resulting in the decision to temporarily suspend their academic pursuits.
We have cases where students suspend their course due to some academic reasons, either they cannot meet up with the CGPA or they aren’t focused on the course, it could also be that they have lost interest in studying the course.
Students also decide to suspend their courses due to financial issues. If he or she does not have the money to support themselves or their family does not have enough money to sponsor her school fees, it will become a problem, and so, he or she may decide to suspend course or studies.
A student can also decide to suspend courses due to health issues. If a student is always sick, he or she might not have the chance to meet up with school activities and this will be a serious setback on the student’s path. So he or she may decide to suspend courses or studies to get proper treatment first before focusing on school.
Another reason why a student can suspend a course or study is for sport. There are cases where a student gets too involved in sport and focus more on the sporting activities in the school, thereby leading him to miss lectures or forget to do certain things in school, when it becomes too much of a burden to carry, the student might most likely suspend courses or studies.
Immigration matter is also one problem that could lead a student to suspend studies. If the student does not meet the requirements of the state or country, he or she might get frustrated or maybe immigrated back to his or her state by the immigrant officers.
Family reasons could be another problem why students could decide to suspend courses or studies. If their family is not in support of the course he or he is currently doing, they may not likely support them or even pay their school fees.

Having a personal tutor or mentor is very advisable at this point because he or she will guide you in the decision-making or even help you with whatever problem you have in the course of study.

You can also get advice from the Student Union (SUG) as they can easily relate to you and give you the help needed.

Here are guidelines on how to apply for the LASUED Suspension Form.

The first thing you have to do is to get the suspension form from the school.
Fill in all the necessary information needed
When done, take it to the student affairs division and get a signature.
When done, you need to take it to your department to update your record and also for your Head of department to sign on the form.
The last office you need to take it to is the administrative office for signature.
When done, you will be sent a message to your email address, to if your suspension has been approved or not. The stated day to resume the course will also be stated in the message sent to you.
