The management of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) has launched its student loan portal to enable students who are having difficulties in funding their education to apply.

This is in line with the Federal Government of Nigeria Student Loan Act that every Nigerian indigene who is challenged in pursuing their education should have access to the Nigerian Student loan. The loan is interest-free and is expected to pay back two years after completion of the one-year compulsory National Youth Service Corpse.

However, the ATBU student loan covers only tuition fees, it does not include accommodation and other expenses and it is paid directly into the University account.

What You Should Know About the ATBU Student Loan

It is an interest-free loan for indigent students in which beneficiaries will have to pay back the exact amount they collect.
ATBU student loan is for poor students seeking higher education in public universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education in the country.
All indigent students have equal rights to access the loan without any discrimination arising either from gender, religion, tribe, position, or disability of any kind.
Only accessible to Nigerian students and it’s just for tuition fee payment.
Student family income must be less than N5000,000 per year
Loan repayment is two years after completing the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)
