The Young Professionals Program (YPP) is an opportunity for those who are interested in becoming the African Development Bank’s future leaders. The management is looking for qualified and motivated professionals from different rewarding career-developing paths to pick up the YPP application form.

Focus Areas of the Young Professionals Program

The Young Professionals Program is a platform to build an outstanding and fulfilling career. The program takes 36 months and is under the Young Professionals Learning Academy structure.

The program is grouped in batches and delivered each 6 months to deepen the knowledge and skills needed for future roles. Candidates will be exposed to different functional areas of hands-on experience, work assignments, and projects in the Bank. We partner with various reputable institutions that will help deliver training, coaches, and mentorship in all professional careers.

  • Feed Africa
  • Integrate Africa
  • Industrialize Africa
  • Improve the lives of the people of Africa

 

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a registered citizen of our member country. 
  • Must not be older than 32 years.
  • Should possess a Master’s degree in any related banking business.
  • Must be an experienced applicant of at least 3 years
  • Candidates with coding, e-development, animation, and platform designs and maintenance skills can apply.
  • Must have effective team spirit and be able to adapt to a diverse environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, an entrepreneurial drive, results orientation, and problem-solving capability.
  • Must have a high business and innovative mindset.
  • Must have English Language and French proficiency
  • Must have technological skills and some basic computer experience 
  • Must be willing to relocate to Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire the Bank’s Headquarters, and any other development Bank member country.

 

Selection Process 

  • Acceptance of applications
  • Proposed Shortlist and approval of shortlist
  • Conduct a Personality Inventory assessment
  • Conduct written or numerical assessment 
  • Group exercises and Oral interviews
  • Identify recommended candidates
  • Conduct Background Checks
  • Recommend candidates for selection; and extension of offer letters and acceptance of offers 
  • Issuance appointment letters
  • YP 2023 Cohort commences work
  • Induction of YPs

All candidates for African Development Bank Young Professionals Program should note that the application is competitive and is done online at the AfDB YPP recruitment portal. You are to provide all necessary and revenants information as possible as you can to secure your application

Applicants with dual nationality are advised to choose only one nationality for this application, African Development Bank only recognizes one nationality.

However, all applicants are to provide the following:

  • Provide a valid email address as this will be the only means of communication
  • Answer all the popup questions
  • Provide your current and correct contact information
  • Correct phone number including your city code (i.e. + city code + number)
  • Upload the following documents:
    • CV in Microsoft Word version (maximum of two pages)
    • Photocopies of academic Certificates/Transcripts.
